Great session

Had a great session at the soccer fields on Sunday. Even had a new guy show up and try a kite. We have been constantly trying to expand the group of flyers and how to update people about sessions. This site, a twitter site and now a yahoo group too. The Yahoo group has worked really well for the local paragliders so hopefully it will work for us. Post a comment and we will try and get you included.

New buggier in the Tri-Cities recently purchased a used Peter Lynn bigfoot buggy. These things can roll over virtually any surface (except maybe water)

notification of events

I maintain a list of about 10 people I text when I am going out kiting. I thought I might look into a way to make the notifications easier and not forget people. TCKiters has a new twitter page to try and make this happen. If you are interested receiving notifications of when we go out you might try and subscribe. I think it will send a text when an event is tweeted. Let me know if you think this will work.

Kiteboarding at Scootney

Da Pasta and I have been working at kiteboarding at Scootney resevoir. Not a bad place to be. It is shallow along the edges and not too cold. There are various places to launch and a road to access about 50% of the shoreline.

Sod farm

A trip to the sod farm in Quincy has been organized by the store bigkidkites.com They will be there on 4/18. You can reply to the post on the power kite forum http://www.powerkiteforum.com/viewthread.php?tid=13373 or probably contact the shop. He usually brings demos to the field. I think parking is $5 for the farmer.

Big Winds hit Tri Cities

Big winds hit Tri Cities this Spring!

Fun and exciting.  The latest batch of high winds have created all kinds of kiting opportunities over the last month or so.  More strong winds are predicted for most of April.  Now's the time to get some gear and learn to fly a smaller traction kite in a grassy field, and maybe even try some Power Kite Land Boarding.  Tri Cities Tom just picked up a used Landboard and 4M Power kite for just $150!  What are you waiting for?

Check out THIS CLIP of my younger sister on her very FIRST day!!!

I will decide when to ship it depending on how far it has to go. post a comment if you want to check it out. until then, here is a pic of it in Columbia Park in Kennewick.

Pass the Peter Lynn Charger!

Hey guys!
I am super stoked. I will soon receive a Peter Lynn Charger to try. It is their brand new kite and is for use on land and water. Sounds to be a great kite and I really hope the wind cooperates. I got this chance because of my participation on the Power Kite Forum, www.powerkiteforum.com I invite anyone who can to come out and see this kite while I have it. I will post more about it when it gets here and I can tell when I will be able to fly it.
